Introduction
Applications are critical elements of any industry controlling customer factories' development process. Solution integration is an essential step in the development process of our products and ensures that application solutions will work properly in the customer environment. The Solution Integration and Test Engineer is a critical participant in the product development process and provides essential input to the product release decision-making process.
Role and responsibilities
As a Solution Integration and Test Engineer you are a member of the Solution Integration Strategy, Planning & Execution team. You integrate new application on our digital platform to address the customer needs. You define, create, execute, and report on system level tests that cover the integration risks. Together with the Solution Architect, you define the tests that cover the solution integration risks. You work closely with the solution owner, product architect and customer support to ensure first time right customer deliveries. While executing the system tests, you detect and register issues. You work with development teams in diagnosing the issues and re-testing solutions.
You report the issues found and enable the product teams to judge the impact and risks of the issues. Lead time and test quality are important; you continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your work. The Solution Integration Strategy, Planning & Execution team is part of the Test & Integration group which is close to 30 people and follows an Agile/Kanban way of working.
You perform the following tasks:
Perform exploratory testing of the new solutions.
-You explore the weak sports of the new solutions by pushing their limits
Quality check of the project deliverables
-Contribute to requirement reviews with respect to testability
-Review project input documents (project test report, process conformance)
-Provide a quality verdict of the delivered software; accept/reject deliverables
Participate in alpha test of new software applications.
-Join alpha tests
-Report issues
-Write test reports, submit issue tickets
Test coverage increase.
-Suggest where the test coverage needs to be increased
Test automation
-You provide input to the test automation team on which tests need to be automated and included in the regression test suite
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
Experience
You have between 3-7 years of experience as a Software Tester in a complex software development organization. For this role we are only looking to hire a senior experienced Tester;
You are ISTQB certified (advanced level);
You like to perform manual testing;
You have some experience with automated testing and with several test techniques.
